About Us
Here at the Chad we pride ourselves on our key position as voice of the community. We reflect the highs and lows of life in Mansfield and Ashfield, and over many years have also taken on a leading role in supporting, either through sponsorship, time or expertise, just about every event which happens locally.
Now, we're very excited to be launching our very own Enterprise Awards showcasing the very best of our local entrepreneurs and talented innovators to add to the wealth of events and campaigns we are already involved with.
Each year the Chad adopts a local worthy cause, and through the newspaper and website will highlight their aims and efforts to boost sponsorship and donations on a weekly basis.
Our Baby of the Year event proves as popular as ever, and this year attracted 717 entries and more than 15,000 votes from our readers.
We now run hugely successful wedding and job fairs on an annual basis, and have also launched our very own Homes and Gardens event for 2009.
On the sporting front the Chad actively supports a number of clubs, organisations and leagues locally. We currently sponsor Mansfield Town Football Club, the Mansfield Youth League and Mansfield Sunday League, as well as the annual Mansfield Half Marathon and Fun Run. We also support Mansfield Rugby Club.
Constantly at the forefront of whatever is happening in Mansfield and Ashfield, we support the annual Christmas Lights switch-on as well as the Summer in the Streets extravaganza each year.
We also lend our backing to the Mansfield Armchair Club with its support to local athletes, work in partnership with Mansfield Rotary Club, and are members of Mansfield 2020.
As well as our printed publications - the Chad is the UK's second biggest selling weekly newspaper - we also set the news agenda locally online with our industry-acclaimed, and hugely popular website chad.co.uk which offers unrivalled coverage of all the breaking news and sport as it happens across the area. It is one of THE most innovative local weekly newspaper websites in the country and benefits from over 100,000 hits each week.
