Mummies, Daddies, Grannies, Grandads, Aunties and Uncles… get
ready to vote!
Oh baby its here… our full colour Baby of the Year 2008 Supplement has been
published and voting has begun! Thousands of votes have flooded through in the
first 24 hours and thousands more are sure to come!
Once voting had ended (voting lines close at midnight on Monday 9th June), the
top two babies from each of the four age categories will go through to the final,
where a panel of judges will select the overall winner, Chad’s Baby of the
Year 2008, and runner-ups. The winning baby will be crowned at a special presentation
at The Towers on Friday 20th June!
All of our babies were snapped by our photographer Jon Bee from Thru The Lens
Studios at the Four Seasons Shopping Centre in Mansfield and The Idlewells Shopping
Centre in Sutton.
This year’s competition has been sponsored by Cherubs Day Nursery, Longdale
Nursery School and Saville House School .
Cherubs Day Nursery opened in January 1993 and caters for children from six weeks
to five years, offering quality care and education in stimulating surroundings
where children feel relaxed and happy.
Since the introduction of Ofsted's new grading system in 2006, Cherubs Day Nurseries
have received more 'Outstanding' grades than any other nursery group in Nottinghamshire.
Longdale Nursery School, on Longdale Road, Ravenshead, has been running for 12
years and is situated in an acre of open countryside near Sherwood Forest.Longdale
is Nottinghamshire's first private day nursery to achieve an 'Outstanding' grade
from Ofsted in every category, with child safety and interaction as a nursery
priority.
Saville House School is a small, independent school based in Mansfield Woodhouse,
which has been running for nearly 60 years.
Small classes of 8 - 16 pupils allow children to achieve their full potential
with the help of the school’s staff - many of whom have been at the school
for more than 20 years.
